I was surprised to find myself thinking that Aliens hasn't dated that well. It feels very much like a film of it's time, an 80s action movie rather than an all time classic (which I thought Alien was when I saw it again a few years ago). Perhaps it was the late night screening in a very warm cinema which meant I was too tired to really appreciate it. I did still enjoy it but mainly as a familiar hit of nostalgia.
